Xagro S.A. has committed to case level traceability as promoted by The Produce Traceability Initiative, PTI

Xagro is an exporter of fresh produce from Nicaragua. We recognize and understand the need for rapid, accurate traceability and are working to become case level compliant by February of 2011.

The Produce Traceability Initiative has a bold vision which outlines a course of action to achieve supply chain-wide adoption of electronic traceability of every case of produce by the year 2012. Xagro is not waiting and should be ready a full year ahead of the schedule.

The Produce Traceability Initiative, sponsored by Canadian Produce Marketing Association, GS1 US, Produce Marketing Association and United Fresh Produce Association, is designed to help the industry maximize the effectiveness of current traceback procedures, while developing a standardized industry approach to enhance the speed and efficiency of traceability systems for the future.
