XAGRO Adds Coconuts to Product Line

November 15th 2011 -
Nicaragua: XAGRO S.A. Announced that they have added dry coconuts to their product line to meet the growing demand from US based buyers.

A new division has been created and will be responsible for working with local farmers to assure a constant supply of quality coconuts. The new division will also hire and train personnel to husk, clean, and package the coconuts which will be exported primarily to the US market using Port El Rama.

"We are really excited about coconuts because it allows us to work with farmers who currently do not have access to the export market. This will create hundreds of direct and indirect jobs in the region" stated Ronald Ehli, CEO of XAGRO at a press conference. "We are also excited about working with the Port officials and the two ship lines that serve the port". Port el Rama is an underutilized port that has the capability to handle refrigerated and dry containers along with general cargo and vehicles.

In other company news, XAGRO has moved its operations offices to a new location downtown Nueva Guinea. "We had simply out grown our original space and this new office will give us room to continue our rapid growth" remarked Ehli. The new office is a two story complex which also has room for warehousing new boxes and other supplies needed by the export operation. The original office in Colonia La Ceiba will continue to serve as the administration headquarters.
